• Account information — your name, email address, and password when you create an account.
• Media files — photos, videos, and voice notes you upload or grant us access to (e.g., from your camera roll, iCloud, or Google Photos). We process these to build your life archive.
• Usage data — pages visited, features used, session duration, and in-app actions to help us improve the product.
• Payment information — billing is handled by our payment processor. We do not store credit card numbers directly.
• Device & browser data — IP address, browser type, operating system, and device identifiers.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide, operate, and improve the Storyloom service.
• Process and tag your photos and videos using AI to build timelines, reels, and documentaries.
• Respond to your messages and support requests.
• Send transactional emails (account confirmation, billing receipts) and, where you opt in, product updates.
• Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
• Comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your private media library to train public AI models.

4. Cookies & Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies (including PostHog analytics) to understand how you use Storyloom and to keep you signed in. Essential cookies are required for the service to function. Analytics cookies are used to improve the product. You may disable non-essential cookies via your browser settings; some features may not work correctly if you do.

5. Third-Party Services

We work with third-party providers who process data on our behalf:

• Convex — our database and backend infrastructure.
• Stripe — payment processing. Subject to Stripe's privacy policy.
• PostHog — product analytics.
• Vercel — web hosting and delivery.

Each provider is contractually bound to protect your data and may only use it as directed by us.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account and media data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g., resolving billing disputes).

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your data (“right to be forgotten”).
• Object to or restrict certain types of processing.

Storyloom is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by a notice within the product. Continued use of Storyloom after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
